Tactical Combat Casualty Care

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)

Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is a sixteen-hour NAEMT course providing training using the current guidelines for battlefield casualty treatment and stabilization.

The course introduces evidence-based, life saving techniques and strategies for providing trauma care in a hostile environment under the auspice of the PHTLS program. The Board of Critical Care and Transport Certification recognizes the course as a preparatory course for Tactical Paramedic Certification.

Upon completion of the course, students will receive a NAEMT certificate that attests they have been trained in the following areas:

  • Capabilities and limitations.
  • Aid bag configuration.
  • Three phases of casualty care.
  • Care under fire.
  • Initial assessment.
  • Life threatening bleeding.
  • Tactical field care.
  • Triage.
  • Chest injuries.
  • Impalements.
  • Common fractures.
  • Burns.
  • CPR in a tactical environment.
  • Preventative medicine.
  • One, two and three-person carry.

Prerequisites:

  • High school or General Education Development diploma.
  • Valid state driver license
  • Proof of affiliation with a public safety agency.
  • Proof of current Emergency Medical Technician certification or above.
