Benefits, Vacation, and Call

Salary and Benefits effective July 1, 2023 (FY24):

â–  PGY1 $57,532.00

â–  PGY2 $59,460.00

â–  PGY3 $61,504.00

â–  PGY4 $64,399.00

Each resident is allowed three full weeks (15 working days) of vacation each year. Vacation time is not accumulated from year to year. Additional time may be allowed to attend meetings or courses.

Residents are entitled to sick leave up to 14 days. 21 days are granted after the first year if no time was used in the previous year.

Additional resident benefits include:

â–   lab coats
â–   book allowance
â–   ACOG membership
â–   Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecology Society membership

Dental insurance, health insurance for the resident and family and additional life insurance are available at an additional cost. Presentations at regional and national meetings are fully supported.

Call Schedule

During residency, average call frequency is 3 nights per month. On call meals and sleeping quarters are provided at our hospital, Wellstar - MCG Health.

Other General Information

Recent changes in the Special Requirements for Residency Training in Obstetrics and Gynecology published by the Residency Review Committee have been integrated into resident rotations. We are fully compliant and endorse the duty hour requirements set forth by the ACGME.
