ACGME Approved Residencies & Fellowships

The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior is proud to offer five fully accredited ACGME-approved training programs.

General Psychiatry -

This 4 year categorical program comprises 28 house officers, and will be selecting 7 new PGY-1 residents in the upcoming year. Dr. Richard Camino serves as the training director for this program, and Dr. David Williams is the assistant director.  A rich diversity of training sites including a newly added state-of the–art addictions treatment facility and a faculty numbering approximately 50 in size makes this a rich and diverse experience.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry -

This fellowship is directed by Dr. Sandra Sexson, an internationally respected educator and leader in her field.  Recently expanded to a total of 6 fellowship slots, MCG at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ has approximately 8 child psychiatrists on faculty in the Section, all of whom are dedicated to our missions of clinical care, education, and research.

Forensic Psychiatry –

The fellowship has one full-time position available each year and features both outpatient and inpatient forensic evaluation as well as clinical treatment, research, and teaching opportunities. Fellows will be immersed in clinical cases working on inpatient forensic hospital units, at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ State Medical Prison, outpatient forensic cases and have opportunities for civil forensic case consultation. This fellowship will prepare participants for careers in academia and the forensic industry.

Addiction Medicine -

The Addiction Medicine Fellowship is a 1-year fellowship offering robust clinical and research training in the evaluation and treatment of addictive diseases. Our program provides integrated, community-based training across the treatment continuum from withdrawal management, residential, intensive outpatient and outpatient settings.
