Coursework

With fewer requirements in studio arts, students have a great deal of flexibility to include a wide range of courses to suit their interests, including humanities, science, mathematics, social/behavioral classes, or foreign languages for a well-rounded education.

Experience-based Education

Outside the Classroom

The Department of Art and Design offers coursework taught by talented and experienced artists to prepare students for a creative future.

Students on this track can still learn from dynamic faculty with deep connections in the art world. However, unlike the BFA, this program allows students more flexibility in choosing coursework.

A Bachelor of Arts degree may be appealing because of its broad and well-rounded approach, which can offer versatility and options when seeking a career or a graduate degree.

 

Research & Innovation

Whether you’re an undergraduate or graduate student, you’ll have opportunities to create your own research projects or work with faculty to tackle some of the world’s most complex and pressing challenges.

 

Research Center

Pamplin College’s Center for Social Science Research involves students as active partners in research projects that assist local public and nonprofit agencies improve their effectiveness.
