What You'll Study

Coursework

The Cybersecurity Engineering program covers network security, secure software development, and industrial control system security. Aligned with the Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework, the curriculum prepares students for roles such as Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist, Security Architect, and Operational Technology (OT) Security Specialist鈥攆ocusing on securing critical systems, designing enterprise security, and protecting industrial infrastructure.

Experience-based Education

Outside the Classroom

Internships provide hands-on experience and valuable industry connections. Students have the opportunity to work with leading companies and government agencies, gaining practical skills and insights into the cybersecurity field.

The Senior Design Project matches seniors with industry sponsors to solve real-world technical problems. Teams of 3-5 seniors are mentored by a School of Computer and Cyber Sciences professor and work in collaboration with an engineer or manager from the agency.

The 51吃瓜黑料曝料 chapter of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon international honor society for computing and information disciplines hosts fun and meaningful events throughout the year.
