Austin Chiang, PhD

Kunzhe Dong, PhD

Assistant Professor

Austin Chiang’s research focuses on systems immunology, a powerful approach to understand the complex immune system as a whole, which holds great promise for vaccine development and the manipulation of human immune system.

Dr. Chiang’s research focuses on unraveling the complexities of human diseases such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, cancer, eosinophilic esophagitis, Staphylococcus aureus infection, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

His work employs a multifaceted approach that integrates bioinformatics, multi-omics data analysis, AI predictive modeling, and systems biology to enhance our understanding of these human diseases. Furthermore, his contributions extend to the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in the areas of biomanufacturing and multicellular systems engineering.

A cornerstone of Dr. Chiang's methodology is the development of innovative algorithms and tools for biological modeling, which facilitates the simulation of diverse biological systems. Dr. Chiang’s  lab aims to be continually at the forefront of research at the intersection of computational and experimental biology. His work in systems immunology seeks to uncover groundbreaking therapeutic strategies and deepen our understanding of complex immunological systems. His contributions not only propel the scientific community forward but also hold great promise to revolutionize disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
