SPEAR Expectations

What to Expect from SPEAR Staff

At the Scheduled Start Time

Simulation room fully set up per teaching plan

Mannequin running in start-state of scenario

Debriefing Room set up with sim laptop, debrief computer up and running, microphone available

Debriefing rooms will contain 10 chairs unless requested in advance

 

During Simulation

Available via on-screen Help Button:

- I need assistance

- I'm ready for next phase

- I'm Done

Prompt, courteous, professional and willing to assist with all needs relating to the simulation center and its equipment.

Expectations from Faculty

The SPEAR Staff has particular expectations from Faculty Members

Arrive on time & prepared for the activity

If using a personal laptop, bring all necessary adaptors

Communicate any technical issues or setup shortfalls to SPEAR staff promptly

If utilized, be respectful of the faculty lounge & the office environment, keeping conversations low and the space clean

Please ensure that students are in compliance with all SPEAR Rules & regulations, including policies regarding:

Any Food & Drink

Lockers

No movement of equipment or furniture

Presence in or transit through restricted areas

Follow simulation best practices with regard to the activity, debriefing, & best use of simulation time

Faculty Development

The SPEAR Center will provide faculty support and development for case creation, curriculum planning and debriefing. Specific development need requests can be directed to spear@augusta.edu
