Background on the QEP

It reflects and affirms a commitment to enhance overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue that the institution considers important to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success.

When it submits its plan document, the institution must demonstrate that the QEP:

1.  Has a topic identified through its ongoing, comprehensive planning and evaluation processes;

2.  Has broad-based support of institutional constituencies;

3.  Focuses on improving specific student learning outcomes and/or student success;

4.  [Has] resources [committed] to initiate, implement and complete the QEP;

5.  Includes a plan to assess achievement (SACSCOC, 2018).

As noted above, a successful QEP is one that is informed by institutional planning and student learning outcome data. It should also have the support of the campus community and take into account student, faculty, and staff experiences, perceptions, and priorities. Without campus support, a QEP will not achieve its goals. That鈥檚 where you come in鈥攜our voice matters.
