Parking Enforcement

The enforcement of the parking rules and regulations at 51吃瓜黑料曝料 is conducted in the interest of the entire University and Health System community to reduce congestion and to provide reasonable access to the parking lots and decks across our campuses.

Hours Of Enforcement

The parking rules and regulations are in effect continuously throughout the calendar year, including holidays and vacations. All "No Parking" zones and restricted spaces are in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. Regulations pertaining to reserved lot/space restrictions are in effect from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or each day the institution is in operation.

Authority

"...The government, control and management of 51吃瓜黑料曝料 and all of the Institutions in the University System of Georgia shall be vested in the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.' (Georgia Constitution, Article VIII, Section IV, Paragraph, 1b). By virtue of the powers granted to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia by the Constitution, the Board of Regents has the authority to adopt bylaws and policies for the management and governance of its member institutions. The Board of Regents further elects a Chancellor of the System, under whose supervision the presidents of the various institutions are given responsibility and authority to promote the efficient operation of the same. The 51吃瓜黑料曝料 department of Parking and Transportation is the delegated authority and has the responsibility for the administration of the policies and parking regulations designed to promote a safe and efficient parking system. The parking regulations and policies specifically include fees for parking privileges and fines, immobilization and impoundment for various unsafe and illegal parking practices.

Regulations

For all student, faculty and university staff vehicles, your license plate will served as your permit. University permits are valid for spaces on the Forest Hills, Summerville, Health Sciences and Riverfront campus lots. AUMC permits are valid for your assigned lot only, and all AUMC employee vehicles must display a current parking decal. 

Towing

Towing for violation of reserved spaces and impeding traffic is enforced. Towing is handled by Chancey's Wrecker Service. Please contact Chancey's Wrecker Service if your vehicle is towed: 706-796-1642. All towing charges are the responsibility of the vehicle owner. All citations must be paid before the vehicle will be released. Tickets may be paid online at the .

Immobilization (Booting)

Vehicles are eligible for booting when the vehicle owner has three or more unpaid citations or $100 or more in total outstanding citations. Vehicles with these conditions may be booted at any time. All citations must be paid before the boot is released. Tickets may be paid online at the 

Reserved Spaces

Unless otherwise indicated on a sign, reserved spaces are enforced Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Other parking patrons may park in reserved spaces after 4:30 p.m. as well. Please note: All reserved spaces on the first level of Deck #2 (MOB Deck) are reserved 24 hours a day. 

Accessible (Disability) Spaces

Handicap SignA state issued disability license plate, permanent disability placard, or temporary disability placard must be displayed when parking in Accessible (disability) spaces. Faculty, staff and students must also have an active parking permit.

Valid Accessible (Disability) plates, placards, or permits issued by the State of Georgia or other states will be honored.

Procedures for obtaining a Disabled Person's Parking Affidavit for the State of Georgia:

  • Obtain a Disabled Person鈥檚 Parking Affidavit () that includes medical certification by one of the following professionals: A licensed physician, osteopath, podiatrist, chiropractor, or optometrist.
  • Submit your application in person to your county tag office or contact them to ask about applying by mail.
  • Faculty, Staff & Students may use any disability parking space on campus as long as your vehicle license is actively registered in the university Parking Portal.
  • Faculty, Staff, and Students must register the placard number with the Parking & Transportation office.

Visiting as a Patient or With a Patient

An employee or student with a doctor's appointment, or who is visiting a patient, is allowed to park in patient parking during the scheduled appointment or visit only by utilizing a courtesy parking pass.

Please print and complete an official Courtesy Appointment Parking Pass. Make sure your university parking permit is visible, and place the printed courtesy pass on the dash. Be sure the note can be easily seen and read from outside the vehicle in order to avoid a citation.
