Jaguar Student Activities Center

The Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC) opened in the fall of 2006. It is completely funded by student fees and serves as the primary building where registered student organizations schedule meetings and events. The JSAC houses the Undergraduate Student Government Association, The Jaguar Production CREW (Student Programming Board), The Bell Ringer (Student Magazine), The Phoenix (Student Magazine), New Student and Family Transitions, The Multicultural Student Engagement Office, and the Department of Student Life and Engagement. 

It also encompasses 7 event and meeting spaces as well as an outdoor plaza.  The JSAC also includes a common space; game room that offers billiards, table tennis, video games and locker rooms; several seating areas for socializing and eating and gender neutral restrooms. The JSAC food court offers smoothies, coffee, pizza, sub sandwiches, a menu that includes a variety of chicken, salads, and wraps, as well as a variety of grab-and-go food items. 

The Department of Student Life and Engagement manages the JSAC and operates under the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs.  The JSAC is managed by three professional staff members in the department of Student Life and Engagement. Student Employees work in the JSAC to manage the daily operations of the facility including audio-visual support for events, staffing the Information Desk and Game Room, and provide setup and breakdown of each event.

The Summerville Food Court, located in the JSAC, offers Freshens Fresh Food Kitchen, Starbucks, WPS, Pizza Hut, Hissho Sushi, WoW Cafe, as well as a a variety of grab-and-go food items.Dining

New Student & Family Transitions

The Office of New Student and Family Transitions serves as the cornerstone of transformative beginnings at 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ, creating comprehensive programs and services that bridge the journey from acceptance to achievement. New Student & Family Transitions

Game Room

The Game Room is where students can relax, chat with friends, and play games! It is located on the 2nd floor of the JSAC, Room 201. It includes pool tables, a ping pong table, an XBox One, a PlayStation 4, a Wii, board games, and much more! A valid Student ID is required to use the Game Room and check out any games or equipment.

Reese Library

Reese Library traces its roots to the Junior College of 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ. In 1960, the library moved into a renovated warehouse on its present campus, then known as 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ College. During the 1970s, the current library was built. It opened in January 1977. In 2006, the University adjoined the new Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC) to the Library, placing Reese at the center of research and engagement.Reese Library

 

Our Event Spaces

The JSAC offers eight meeting rooms and event spaces available for registered Student Organizations and University Departments to reserve free of charge!  The JSAC houses a wide variety of programmable space, from a large Ballroom to host your next banquet, to smaller meeting areas just big enough for committee members to meet. All reservations must be made two weeks in advance. For more information on our specific rooms, see our Event & Meeting Space Information. Additionally, please see our Building Policies and Reservation Policies on the rules and regulations on having events in the JSAC.

NOTE: Before reserving a space in the Jaguar Student Activities Center (JSAC), all events must first be entered into Presence. This step ensures your event is properly recorded and approved in our system. Frequently Asked Questions

I have an important event that I need to book a room for. Can I make a priority reservation?

A priority room request may be made for JSAC space. This applies to reservations outside of the standard reservation period, up to 18 months from the current date. These requests are meant for special events ONLY. Please see the that must be met for these requests.

Can I reserve a room for outside of normal hours of operation?

Reservations can be made for the JSAC outside of normal operation hours. JSAC Building Hours can be found under the "Our Hours" section.  An after-hours must be submitted NO LESS than 30 days in advance. Charges will apply.
