About the Department of Physical Therapy

Welcome to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at 51吃瓜黑料曝料. Since our initial accreditation in May of 1973, we have facilitated a culture of excellence in a collegial environment. Our program has the distinction of being housed in the only public university in Georgia that contains an academic medical center and is one of only four public research-intensive universities in Georgia. Our rich history and clinical relationships provide our students with exciting and unique learning opportunities in the classroom and clinic. They have also allowed our department to offer a one-year long post-professional Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency.

Our program values an active education process in which students are encouraged to reflect on their experiences as they grow into autonomous, self-directed, and resilient life-long learners. Our small class size allows us to truly get to know our students and ensure they have mastered the content needed to become competent entry-level practitioners. Our educational process has allowed our graduates to perform well above the average on the National Physical Therapy Licensure Examination, with many of our cohorts appreciating a 100% pass rate on their first attempt. We enjoy our strong ties with alumni, many of whom volunteer their time and expertise to our program.

We invite you to apply to our program and become part of its continued legacy of excellence.
