Freshman Admissions

The Fall 2025 application is now open!

If you have any questions, contact your counselor.

Please note: Beginning August 1, 2024, the application fee to 51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ will increase to $60.

An incoming freshman is any senior in high school or a student who has graduated from high school and has not attended another college since graduating.

If you graduated from high school more than five years ago, please see the Life Enrichment requirements.

51³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÆØÁÏ will waive the testing requirement for qualified first-year students for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester.

In the absence of test scores, we will employ a GPA threshold (a minimum high school GPA of 3.4 as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions based on the Required High School Curriculum) to make admissions eligibility decisions. Incoming Freshman must still meet all other admissions requirements, which includes completing the Required High School Curriculum and providing all other requested documentation. Students below a 3.4 GPA will need to submit SAT or ACT scores meeting our minimum requirement for admission.

Students from non-accredited homeschool programs (or non-accredited high schools) may demonstrate their graduation and completion of the RHSC in an alternative way. In addition, a score at or above the average SAT or ACT score of the previous year’s fall semester first-time freshman class is required. *

Though not required, applicants are encouraged to submit any or all of the following:

  • Evidence that they have met the minimum high school GPA required for regular admission (2.0 GPA with test scores) as well as the Required High School Curriculum.
  • A student portfolio with any additional/supplemental information that will assist with our academic evaluation.

*For Fall 2020, the freshman standard is 1118 on the SAT or 23 on the ACT.

Step 2 – Submit Official Documentation

Submit official SAT or ACT scores directly from your College Board or ACT account. We don’t require both exams, but students are welcomed to send both. We will superscore and use the highest scores you submit to give you the greatest opportunity.

Submit an official high school transcript. This should be sent electronically directly from your high school. If you’re currently enrolled in your senior year, please include a copy of your current class schedule.

If you’ve taken Dual Enrollment classes, have your college send official transcripts to AU. We will award as much credit as possible, based on our .

Submit any official AP or IB exam scores. Learn more about credit by exam.

Continue checking your application portal as new requirements might be added to your checklist throughout the process. If you have questions about documentation needed, please contact admissions@augusta.edu.

Step 3 – Confirm Your Enrollment

If you are admitted, you will need to secure your seat by confirming your enrollment and submitting a $200 nonrefundable enrollment deposit.

After submitting the acceptance agreement on your portal and activating your AU credentials, you can access your POUNCE account and submit your deposit.

Note: For any student in a non-selective program - with or without active duty service - who did not enroll or attend any other higher education institutions after being admitted/re-admitted, admission/re-admission will be deferred for up to one year via a written request to Academic Admissions. Submission of a new application is not required for admitted/re-admitted students in non-selective programs who meet the requirements stated here.

Students in selective or graduate programs whose academic endeavors were interrupted by their military service will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
