Rates & Contracts

The housing contract is a legally binding agreement between the resident and the Board of Regents and the University System of Georgia that secures a living space.

What is included in a housing contract?

  1. Defines the terms and conditions of occupancy
  2. Addresses pertinent Georgia laws
  3. Refers to specific sections of the Student Code of Conduct and the guide to Community Living

By executing your contract online, you are agreeing to the terms of the housing contract and making a commitment to live on campus and to pay rates for the fall and spring semesters and, in some cases, summer semester.

For your specific contract, make sure when you sign your contract*, you print a copy while in the Housing Portal.

*See below to download a general copy of the housing contract for review prior to logging into the portal.

Room Amenities & Billing Information

What you need to know about your room and housing costs.

Room Amenities

  • All units are furnished with bed, desk, chair, dresser and closet for each student.
  • University Village units also include a shared common area as well as a full kitchen with stove, dishwasher and fridge. Elm Hall units also include a sofa as well as a studio kitchen with cooktop and fridge.

What is included in the housing costs?

Rates include all utilities (water, gas, electric) along with cable, internet, laundry access and trash service.

How am I billed?

  • All housing charges are posted to your  account and are due by the posted university payment due date for each semester. Past due balances will result in a hold placed on your POUNCE account, and can result in dropped class schedules or eviction.
  • Miscellaneous charges — including fees and fines — are also billed to POUNCE.

Fall Graduates

I plan to graduate Fall Semester. How do I know I won't be charged for Spring Semester?

Congratulations on your achievement! We have a list given to us by the Office of the Registrar that lets us know who will be graduating each semester. We want you to graduate so there is no penalty if you cancel your contract due to graduation. Make sure you cancel your Spring Contract within the Housing Portal and list "graduation" as your reason.
